size of pdf files created by Bullzip

Having created one page with quarkXpress, I printed it to pdf using first Acrobat Distiller and then Bullzip.
The size of the pdf file created by Bullzip is about 35 times as large as the one created by Distiller.
Is there any possibility to get some controll upon file size ?
